Ford Mustang History

The "1964-1/2 Model" Mustang was offered at $2,368, FOB Detroit. Lee A. Iacocca, the Ford Division's General Manager, is generally credited with the concept, design, and introduction of the Mustang. The "Shelby" Mustang appeared in 1965 as a highly specialized fastback. In 1968-1970, "Shelby" convertibles were also available. In the 6 "Shelby" years of production, 14,368 were built.
